newbie here
hi everyone!
my name is mike from new zealand.
i have recently been speaking to a friend of mine reguarding water injection,i currently know very little about it but i am wanting to learn more about it!
i own a turbocharged 1988 honda prelude non vtec and i am still working on the project as i write this and need some info from you guys!
i am on a limited budget here so if you can awncer my questions with that in mind, i will appreciate it greatly!
i will be running:
2 litre twin cam engine
subaru ihi vf10 turbo
megasquirt ecu
2.5 inch exhaust
95-98 octane fuel
12 psi
7100 rpm rev limit
my questions are:
because of my low budget, is it a good idea to inject water into the turbo-as high pressure pumps look rather expensive- or as an alternative, would a 120 psi fuel injection pump work?
i have two pressure swiches that were given to me by a friend, i am unsure of what psi they are rated at but i guess i should have the one i use kick in at around 5psi? also, is there any way to get he swiches tested?
will i need any form of electronic management in my water system or can it just be rigged up so the pump starts when i get above 5 odd psi?
ive been reading about how you guys use a mix of water/methanol or water/alc- is it ok ro run straight water? the reson i ask this is because i want to make a system that i can just top up every time i fill up!
i have downloaded the nozzel calculator, it says i will need a 2.6gph nozzel.
- which is he best place to buy one from online?
any help would be great as i am very new to this phenomenon!
thanks alot!
mike
