You need to use a voltmeter to verify what wire is what, In park with the motor going if it is a 3bar voltage should be about 1.25 or so and fluctuating just a bit. Then verify your ground, and 5 volt output wire.

Never play a guessing game with the wires, that's why we recommend you use a voltmeter.
