Default Re: Mercedes SLK32 AMG nozzle placement

I just mounted it in the intercooler, post supercharger, right at the supercharger exit (before the coils) to see if it made a difference.
(for those who want to do this, I must say the aluminum walls of the intercooler are thicker than the threads of the nozzle are deep, minus one or two threads. I tried grabbing those 2 threads but they just stripped out... so be prepared to do some GRINDING on the spot you wish to mount the nozzle.)
I'll post pics when I get a chance.

WOOPS didn't think of this ahead of time but I need a solenoid now! I burn through a gallon in about 30 minutes due to vacuum.

BUT

My air intake temperatures are now 20 degrees cooler!!! than on the intake itself pre-supercharger. I was watching the OBD2 screen and couldn't believe it. I think a lot of it is the fact that it's constantly coming out under vacuum though, because under normal driving my intake censor shows about 7 degrees cooler than outside air temps. But when I give it good load, it only goes up like 15 degrees, usually it goes up like 30-40 degrees. And the hottest it's gotten now is 129, where as under WOT like normal it gets past 150... and without methanol at all it's close to 200 degrees. This is a drastic improvement. I probably won't see gains this good once the solenoid is in place, but then again it won't be DRINKING my mixture like it's going out of style. And to make things better, i gained ~1.5 PSI! I really think the mixture hitting the fins of the SC creates some resistance, thus decreasing boost and vaporizing all of the mixture before it even hits the intercooler. My car has never been faster. I'm upgrading the heat exchanger on my intercooler next, and after that I should be about as cool as I'm ever gonna get for intake temperatures.

BTW i'm using a 7gph nozzle.

Very happy right now... of course even happier when the solenoid comes in.
