Straight meth or a mix?
Hey guys,
So im new to the methanol but not new to cars at all. Since this is my first post i will tell you about my current ride and my project car. The project car is a 36 Ford with a 396, heads, fast efi, TT, etc and is going to be one hell of a car when its all done so im looking to put a meth kit on my Datsun 280Z so i can get the learning curve under my belt before the 36 is finished.
280z: Turbocharged, Megasquirt efi, 7.8:1 compression, currently running 15 psi but after the meth i will crank it up some more (20-24)
Questions: What are the pros and cons of running straight meth on my 280z as far as cooling and fueling are concerned? Does running straight meth require different fittings or lines? any info on this would be appreciated. Also i like the idea of a direct port set up but im not sure D.O. has nozzles small enough for my application. The car will be making around 350-400rwhp with the boost around 20-22.
Any info on the straight meth, direct port pros and cons, etc would be appreciated.
Just ordered my Devils own kit yesterday! Found it on Ebay for a steal and its still new and in the box.
My ems runs off of a 3bar map daddy sensor so im still not sure if i will need an additional sensor or not?
