Default Re: How do you use the Stage 1 controller?

the left dial selects the boost pressure that the pump turns on at.
the right dial selects the boost pressure that the pump goes to a 100% duty cycle (full voltage to the pump- this brings the pump pressure to whatever you have it set at via the set screw at the top of the pump)

for example- if you have the left dial set to 4, and the right dial set to 8: when your car hits 4psi of boost, the pump will maybe get 1/2 the operating voltage it needs. as your boost psi approaches 8, the pump will get more and more voltage until at 8psi it gets full voltage and is pumping at full power.
(this is how i believe it works, but please correct me if i am wrong)

as far as what to set the pump at, it all depends on your car. you need to scan the car to get it dialed in right. but with a 3.25 pulley i was seeing up to 5* of KR, and with the pump set at 60psi (what it was set to when it was shipped to me), it got rid of all of it.

without a pressure gauge, you really cant know for sure what the pressure is, but i believe they are set at 60psi when they are shipped, and then you can make adjustments from there based on the number of turns of the set screw on the top of the pump. if you havent played with that set screw, it should be at 60psi. although the pump pressure is trivial, because if you are scanning and tuning your car it wont matter what the pressure is- it just matters whether it is too much or too little.

i wish i could have answered your questions with: set the pump to XX and XX, and you will be fine, but all the cars react different.
hope that helps.
