The blinks are what mode the controller is in, If a 2 bar, the controller will blink 2 times on start up. You have all the signs of having a loose map sensor connection. When you do solder it, strip the wire down about 1/2 inch, then strip the green wire down about 1 in and wrap it around the factory map wire and solder it. May stock wires are to small a gauge to use taps.
