If you are not running progressive nitrous, and want to use the methanol as the fuel side, the the base kit would be the easiest to setup. Choose a nozzle, then run the kit. If you want to use it to at part throttle too, then the progressive or a second, smaller nozzle would be a better choice I would think. Like I said earlier, not too many are trying to boost their MPG with here, but rather to save their engines. I think that DVLDOC or Rocket would be able to give a better answer.

Dust, you have no idea how much I appreciate the fact that you are taking the time to answer me. Thank you very much! That being said, MPG is not now, nor has it ever been a reason why I was looking at a meth/water injection kit. I have no idea how that got into the conversation. It is not on the table. I DO however want to run a cheaper gas daily, the 93 octane I am putting into the car right now is insanely expensive. I think a progressive kit would be the best choice. I can take it as read that I need to purchase the "universal" kit with the 5 volt voltage controller? Is there adequate documentation as to how to tie this into my MAF or throttle? | |

I took the cheap gas comment not as less octane, but as less period. I have MPG on the brain. Not having used the voltage controller before, but having seen the progressive install stuff, it shouldn’t be too bad. Feel free to post up questions you have about the install. There are a lot here who have done it before, although not necessarily on your car, but that can still help you. I know there are a few 4 valve owners on here, although they are of the altered atmosphere variety. I can answer your questions because I am in japan at work, while others may be sleeping. You can use your throttle position sensor or vehicles map sensor for the 5v source for a N/A Mark 8, the progressive kit is pretty much the only thing that is going to work for you. You don't have to use it as progressive but can just have it come on at a set point just by having the full point lower than the start point.

Ok, next question. The more I read about this, the more it seems as though I will need to "pull fuel" out of the mixture as adding the methanol will cause the engine to run richer. I fully expect that I am running rich when under Nitrous as it is. At the moment I have no in-car wideband A/F meters so that is just an educated guess. The timing I can handle easily, the fuel mixture is a different animal. So the short question is, while using water/meth injection do you typically recommend reducing the fuel delivery? And by how much? |

Without a 02 monitor to see were your o2 levels are or a AF gauge its kind of hard to say. The only way to say how much fuel to pull is to see what your levels are now versus when the system is activated.
