I have a 1998 12V. Im currently running a turbo to small for the fuel I have. The truck makes 546hp and 1188ft-lbs at the rear wheels. Im only running a hybird turbo, mostly in part for the quick spool. I used to have one of your kits on my old truck, but it was simply a pump, 2 solenoids and 2 boost switches. Im considering a kit for my 98 and am intersted in the controller. Im not exactly sure where the boost sensor is on a 12V, and not 100% sure it even has one. If it does, would I simply need the 0-5v controller? thanks, Jeff Last edited by pwerwagn; 09-24-2007 at 08:36 AM. |

FWIW, the truck has a 913 pump, 0 plate, edm 370's, hx35/40-14 turbo, etc. Cruise boost levels with 5th wheel are around 15psi with EGT around 900. Peak boost is around 46psi, peak EGT is wwwwaaaaayyyy off the gauge!!! Yeah, its been back around to 0 a couple hundred times at the drag strip. ![]() Basically, Id like to cool down while towing. I dont need more power, just less EGT. I liked my previous devils own kit, so thats why im coming back. --Jeff

Sorry for the delay getting to your message. I needed to look up some paticulars on your truck. I don't know much about your paticular year of cummins. Our controller has to be hooked up to a 0-5 volt boost sensor "map sensor" there are afew names for it. But they didn't start using them till after the 98 year :( So to make our controller work in your truck you will need a map sensor. The highest we have is 3 bar or 30psi. I would assume your over this. So i would recomend hooking up a 5 bar map sensor like aems to the Boost Pressure sensor on the Vaporizer. Which is located by your down and to the left of your oil dipstick. Then you would need our voltage controller. |

Yeah, Ive looked at the AEM maps. The only prob I have is they cost 200$, and when I do twins and make over 60psi, it will be worthless. I guess I will think about it and decide what I wanna do. thanks, Jeff

98 models are all mostly mechanical, a Progressive Controller and dual nozzles will work great... just use a GM 3 bar map sensor, and use the 5v ref, pwr and ground from the devilsown controller I am very familiar with the 12v with the P pump as my close friend Joe Hellmann has one of the quickest 12v's in the country Hellmann Performance Intercoolers, custom fabrication richmond texas, hellmann performance richmond texas, custom fabrication, diesel truck, welding, diesel performance parts, texas, powerstroke |

I know Joe too!!! I met him at one of the diesel events...dont recall if it was may madness or one of the DHRA events. One of my grand national buddies is trying to scrounge up some map stuff for me to use. If he can come up with something, I'll do the controller. If not, I'll just go back to the ole tried and true mechanical setup. I wish I had it on last weekend. I towed the boat and 5th wheel to the lake and pushed it pretty hard. got it pretty dang hot!! but it was fun. ![]() --Jeff
