Re: 1KZ-TE Setup

I got a question for ya all,

I was wondering how deep the nozzles have to go in so as the spray does not hit the side walls of the hole its threaded into? I drilled through my cast aluminum manifold piece and the nozzle will not thread all the way through, but at least half way. I'm also considering some other option and it could make the nozzle sit even further back out from the inside of the manifold and I'm wondering if this is a bad thing? I really need to look at the spray patter to see what it looks like, but maybe someone can throw me a some info on how far these nozzles need to be into their threaded hole.

Thank you!

Re: 1KZ-TE Setup

It can sit back about a 1/4".

Re: 1KZ-TE Setup

I bought one of the Nozzle Mounting Adapters for my setup. Would this be a good example of how far a nozzle must go in? I have not installed it yet but to me it looks like the nozzle will only go about half way in to the adapter or maybe even just 1/4 the way in, not even half way.... so I'm guessing this is ok? or were the adapters made for inside nozzles? It does not state it here...

Also how do you keep the nut for the adapter from wiggling lose? It has no lock washer and seems to me it could slowly unscrew and then get sucked into my turbo killing it... I'm thinking I may dab silicone on it to keep it from unscrewing...

Re: 1KZ-TE Setup

i would have thought you would fit it with nut outside. that way the nozzle stops it coming right off. however i would be inclined to glue it in there permanently.

Re: 1KZ-TE Setup

Well I found that the threads inside for the nozzle only go half way. So it goes in only one way, which is with the nut on the inside.... the nozzles sure do not go that deep into this thing, but they designed it so it must be ok!

Cool Re: 1KZ-TE Setup

Hi all,

I am new here and just getting started with Water/Alcohol Injection.

I have a 2002 4Runner 3L Turbo Diesel EFI no IC - ... will eventually install a WI system.

So, ..... is there any update on this project?

As soon as I have read all the info on this list and others I will start a new thread and try to get this going,.....

Does anyone here have detailed info/experience with the EFI system of the 1KZ-TE? ..... what does each sensor do? aftermarket controllers?
etc....
