hi, the kit arrived and looks good. no duty or brokerage fees from Canada post so i liked that. however i have for the most part hooked it up. pump is mounted, tank is ready, will be installing the nozzles tomorrow. i did get a ses light for low boost sensor. i tapped into the light green map wire. i assume that is the correct wire. i had three to choose from. the voltage coming off it shows as .01 and not the point zero two i expected. is that correct on a 1998 gmc 6.5 diesel. also a couple times i turned the key on and the pump started, good thing there are no nozzles hooked up or i'd be thinking hydrolock. nothing short of turning the key off would stop the pump. have i missed something there. i'll take some pics for ya tomorrow. it is coming together as it looks professionally installed, not bad for a baker i'd say. okay, i have now figured out what i did wrong. NOTHING. nothing at all. the unit is set to 3 bar when my map is two bar. DOH. if i ever hit 30psi of boost i'd be getting a rebuilt engine that day, the 6.5 can't take more than 15psi boost, maybe 20psi boost with i/c. anyhow i found the online instructions on how to change it to 2 bar. thanks for making them available. with the yellow light where is says full, does the yellow come on when pump output is on full. ok, it is now fully installed and set for 2 bar. what i have noticed is the only time i see the yellow light is the startup for 2 bar. at idle with the start at the lowest setting and the full knob at the highest setting the green light flickers and the idle changes as water is being injected. when i turn the full know below 37 the green light shuts off and idle goes to normal. if i turn the full knob back above 37 the pump starts again and idle changes. seems something is backwards. and i haven't tried it but i'm sure i could shut the engine off and the pump would keep going. on edit: i just disconnected the hose to the nozzles and the pump comes on with the above scenario. i also disconnected the controllers map wire and touched it to the gray. all lights came on and the pump started pumping water. i was quite amazed when in the above scenario i did not need to connect the map wire to anything to power the pump. is it me or does something seem not right. couldn't find any info in FAQ's. Sounds like your map sensor is bad. In the 2 bar mode the controller can only read voltage from 2.25 volts which is 2psi. 2 flashes at start up show the system check is done and the controller is ready. When you touch the grey wire to the green wire you are giving it a full 5 volts so it will activate the pump. It's also how you check your system to see if it's working correctly. All signs show your controller is operating normally but your map sensor is not. In diesels the port can become plugged with soot and the readings can be random from the sensor. Also if you have a bad map sensor connection the controller will hunt for a signal and turn on and off. You can use a surplus 2 bar maps sensor and have the controller power it seperate. On other issue is that the map sensor installed on your vehicle might not be a absolute which means it's not scaled to read vacuum, Some vehicle have those but not to many. This would throgh the scale right out the window. The important thing to check is what voltage is comming to the green wire when you have it hooked up to your map sensor. This step will let you figure out the problem. It's all about voltage with the controller, that's all it knows. If your getting 3.5v and either one of those dials is below that then it will activate. |

everything is now working as it should. i traced the problem down and it was the tap-in connector. the little pin musta just missed piercing the wire. i'll work on sending ya pics of the install. on edit: pics are now available in the "install pics threads". Ed
