Hi. New to this forum. I'm thinking of installing a water-methanol system in my 1986 Hilux Surf. The system from snow-performance looks like a good unit. Anything that I should be aware of before I go ahead with this mod? Any tips or suggestions? Any issues running this with Biodiesel of Vegetable oil? The truck is as follows: 2LT Custom Intercooler 2 1/2" exhaust Boost increased to ~9.5 PSI Custom cold air intake Running B100 Biodiesel and Straight Vegetable Oil Cheers & Thanks in advance -Jeff |

Any ideas on what your charge temp and exhaust gas temps are? As if you don't i'd get some gauges put on it as it'll help you tune, to me 9.5psi seems rather low boost. The water injection will help you lower EGT temps therefore allowing you to run more boost and get more BHP. As for running water injection with Biodiesel, i ran it with my peugeot 306 DT and she was fine.

Not quite sure what my charge temps are, But I try to keep my EGTs below 1000 degrees (post turbo) As far as boost goes, what would you suggest I turn it up too? I'm trying to stay on the conservative side since the 2Lt is so well known for it's self-destruct function! CHeers, jeff |

Well on my old peugeot which was a 1.9 as long as EGT's stayed under 1200 i was happy, she had a compression ratio of 22.5-1 and i ran her at 18-21psi on low boost and 28psi on high. I was using a Charge cooler with water injection and kept charge temps to under 40 degrees and oil temps under 125 degrees using a decent sized oil cooler.
