| ![]() Done on the cheap, couldn't afford the DO pump or valve, though there is a DO sprayer and boost sensing switch there. The pump is a Valeo headlight washer pump and there is a VDO non-return valve. I started with water on at .9 bar, then down to .5 bar and now .3 bar. I can't say that there is more power, though there might be. It feels better, but that could be wishful thinking. One thing I do notice is that the smoke from the exhaust (which it is easy to see in the LH door mirrror) stops altogether when the water comes on. And I just discovered a 220l drum of Methanol in the back of the garage, bought to make biodiesel. |

By boost referencing you mean ignoring the boost switch and pressurising the tank? There are two things against that. One is that I have the boost switch which cost some money, and also the tank is still used for the windscreen washer pumps. I don't think there are any non-return valves there, so the water would be pushed through the pumps and out of the squirters. The headlamp washer pump pushes out a lot more pressure than a little windscreen washer pump, with quite a high flow rate as well. |

I've been reading your posts and am most impressed with your installation. Do you have any results yet? I have a '91 110 CSW with a retro-fitted 300 Tdi, and am seriously considering WI, again, primarily for economy, but a bit of extra power would be welcome, as I've already fitted an overdrive, but am now a bit over-gear4ed when fully loaded, which is quite often.
