I drag race my 2006 Dodge Ram with a 5.9 Cummins. It has stock turbo and injectors. My only power adder is a programmer and fuel box, good for about 250rwhp extra. My EGTs at the end of the track start getting pretty hot. Would water/meth injection work for such a short burst (12 second quarter miles) or is it mainly only useful for towing? Also what kind of power could I expect? I would like to go with the progressive kit if it would work for me. Would I be better off with two injectors? What size would be best? Thanks Barry

Is running a smaller jet or single jet when two are needed, is that a way to guarantee not to blow up anything? I keep reading that water/meth is a great setup if done perfectly, but can destroy stuff if not done perfectly. I am a complete dolt when it comes to water/meth injection. What are the warning signs it is getting dangerous? Thanks for any advices.

| DevilsOwn Tech Year: 86 Make: Buick Model: T Type | it depends on how much boost your running, bigger injectors etc... On the diesels i suggest just running water.. adding either more fuel or boost, and using the alcohol kit to keep the EGT's in a safe range |

On a cummins straight water altho very nice at cooling it tends to put the fire out. Your times will drop. Mines an 89 12 valve, i run 50/50 mix, on an average i see around a 300 degree drop in EGT's. There are a few things to consider, when you hit the meth you'll see a boost spike. I dont know if your computer will like that, and try and compensate by defueling. Our trucks can live in 40 psi range of boost, but start going over that and head gaskets tend to fail faster. Mines fire ringed so it can take a lot more. As far as mods, I run twin turbos and EDM injectors, Iv had no problems in any way. But dont go over aeound 30 GPH flow, first it will bog and you'll lose time.

My egts were staying pretty reasonable. I wound up putting a 64/71-14 on it, lots more air and cooler. I am still planning on injecting meth/water this spring.
