Hello. I Have a 1995 Citroen Xantia 4cyl 2.1Turbo diesel. I have the Wi ~ 1 month ago installed. I have the diesel Universal progressive stage 2 kit. Currently d03 nozzle after the ic mounted. The Controller is to the Cars Factory Turbo boost sensor connected. I also have a kill switch to the ignition line between the controller installed. The controller reports ok. When I start the engine red Light comes on ,Yellow flashes for a second. When there is boost green light gradually flashes and at full boost the yellow light is fully on. Also it works ok. Problem #1 When I switch the wi off, the engine cannot build up boost anymore. I cannot find the reason. I double checked everything but I don’t know anymore what to do.I have a boost gauge installed and so i can tell that there is no boost. Problem #2 With the wi I cannot feel any noticeable power gain.I ‘m using 50/50 distilled water and screen washer fluid. I have currently set the controller at 9 psi start and 14 max. When I set the start lower I loose the power the lower rpm range. It seems like it is over fueling or something. My mechanic said that the engine has some explosions with the wi on.I can’t really tell. Because I’m considering future dual nozzle setup, I’m about to order the 30/40 Amp Relay and the inside mount nozzles m1 ,m2 , m3.I will install the relay that the pump gets power straight from the battery in case this is the problem.I connected the pump straight to the battery and it works fine .With the smaller nozzle I hope to minimize the “overfueling” IF that is the case. I would appreciate any suggestions Thank you. Last edited by Spyrious; 07-25-2008 at 03:20 PM. |

The only reason I can think that the system would effect your boost is that your map sensor cannot handle the un-powered load of the controller being hooked up to it. Have you tried disconnecting the green wire from the map sensor and see if the problem persist. UK cars are known for weak electrical systems. Second did you prime your pump prior to hooking the hose into the nozzle assembly. Also I'm not saying you did this but it's been done, Did you install the nozzle correctly? The filtered end should go into the nozzle holder not the intake. Disconnect the hose from the nozzle assembly, touch the grey wire to the green wire and see if the pump is spraying. If your issue is your map sensor you will have to get a surplus one and hook it up using the controllers grey 5 volt wire to power it and let the controller read off that one, this way it has nothing to do with your vehicles electronics or ECU. A relay is a good ideal in a vehicle with questionable electronics. You can reduce your alcohol mix to 20% 50/50 is not for everyone. Is your intake cold to the touch after you do a run with the alcohol on? |

Hello.I will try to disconect the green wire from the map sensor. If you mean by priming ,run the pump off the battery before connecting the tube to the nozzle ,yes i have done that.I did install the nozzle correctly. The manifold is not cold after i run with wi.I reffiled a larger amount of water to decrease the methanol in the mix today with a little better result.I wiil try to touch the grey wire to the green wire as you said today also.If the map sensor is the problem, which one should i get.I have the 2.5 bar controller? Thank you for your support. |

I disconnected the green wire and now if the wi is off the engine runs like it was before installing the wi.I even touched the green wire with the grey and tje pump works.

That's a typical problem with older UK cars, They cannot handle the load on the sensor, It acts like a MAP clamp. If you can find a ford focus turbo diesel or VW or Audi TDI map sensor and connector then you can use that, We do not carry 2.5 bar map sensors. The grey wire from the controller will power the sensor. |

OK.So you think that with the surplus map sensor it will work ok.Will ths solve the problem that the wi is not working ok? P.S.Will a map sensor the same as the factory one work?Or is it better to get one of those you mentioned. Thank you. |

I would not use the factory map sensor, It cannot handle having even the tiny load of the controller off with it. I would get a newer map sensor there should be plenty of surplus VW sensors around as well as ford.

You need to hook it up to a volt meter to find out or try to locate a wire diagram. The best place to find the info for that is TDIClub Forums - Powered by vBulletin |
