| would water/meth help any on a 2004 LLY duramax. My IAT's are already low, usually around 100 deg. on a 90 degree day, I'm looking mainly for more power. I still have the stock turbo, but I have larger Boost tubes, taken the EGR system completely off, 4" straight exhaust, EFI Live programming, Volant intake with 2 scoops, all hot under hood air has been eliminated from the intake, a suncoast transmission and 35" tires. I'm looking for some top end help "extra pull" |

| DevilsOwn Staff Year: 2000 Make: Pontiac Model: Grand Prix | Water/ methanol injection is really going to help trucks that have problems keeping the egt reasonable. 1300ish or higher. If your not having any problem with keeping them down then no. If not then you can probably easily run more boost and timing etc. should be able to run less fuel with the efi live while reducing black smoke. |

| I run a Cummins not a D-max but on my truck I get just shy of a 75 HP bump. Now that being said I installed W/M for EGT control. On a full throttle run I would bottom out a 1600 degree gauge. Now I hit 1300 which is still a tad high but within reason. I'm not up to date on D-max engine but remember once you defeat the wastegate and add W/M your boost is going up fast, I'm running 55 without water, but im fire ringed. Its something to check on, make sure the engine can deal with the boost. |

| As an owner of a LLY myself, I quite like the water methanol... You WONT see 75 HP. The best I have heard of is 30HP on the Dyno. My D-max probably see's 15 horses outa the water methanol. The best thing about it is EGT control. With EFI live you will be able to turn up your fueling with out worrying about EGT's going through the roof. You can also advance your timing a bit farther then others not running the methanol. Ramp up the boost too on that VVT! check out this link for install on an lly. 05 Chevy Duramax LLY Last edited by Sneeze; 11-02-2007 at 02:11 AM. |
