I have to say - Very Cool! Nice ride. You say you have stock internals in that motor? I don't see how it holds the power! Amazing. The sleeper look is done to a "t" |

The slant 6 is a surprisingly durable motor. I've heard of them going a lot of miles. I had a buddy's girlfriend run one out of oil no less than 4 times. She may have even siezed it once. Anyway, I bought a few stock replacement pistons (cast @ $11.86) just to see what they looked like. Very tall compression height of 1.78" and the dome (flat top) was minimally 3/8" thick. It will be interesting to see what engine's pistons look like when I get the head off. This past spring when I first got it going, I had a few detonation incidents. I had a buddy in the car for one and we were sure the engine was broke in half. We never heard anything so loud before!!! For whatever the reason it just keeps going. Although, I'm losing coolant somewhere. It's not on the floor so I'm assuming its the head gasket leaking internally when it is running. I'm planning on o- ringing the block and installing a copper head gasket when I do the head swap. That's really my only choice. Steel shims are hard to find and I don't trust the felpro and ROL composition type gaskets.
