Re: 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST install

No new updates. I never got it retuned for the additional methanol, so I never took it to the track. Though it seemed to like it after I pulled a little fuel using DSMLink. There is no doubt in my mind that I could have ran mid to high 11's with the single nozzle and more seat time/tuning.

With the dual nozzles, 25psi and 26* of timing and no knock. It was just pointless in the FWD spinning brand new 225/55/16 tires until about 65mph.

I havnt really got to play around with it too much, but I would recommend starting with a big single nozzle like a D14, (x2) D7's or (x2) D10's. Its really up to you and your tuner.

The more methanol you add and compensate for, the higher risk you run in the event of pump failure [which is not common with DevilsOwn pumps] or running it too close to empty. Even though I have never had a problem, one of the flaws with the way I have the intake plumed for the pump, is that it is facing the front of the car. I am going to build a sump tank for my methanol and place the intake fitting at the rear to insure positive injection at all times.

Good to hear. BTW, that's alot of timing! Im running 24psi with a 3065 on pump but with my timing sliders still set at 0 so I wonder what it would be like with a lil more boost, more timing and some straight meth. BTW, what's your user name on the Link forums? When you get that sump made post it up on the Link forums for us to enjoy. GL!

P.S. what kind of AFR's are you seeing? I have the same pump and injectors so it'll help me when I get a Do meth kit.

Re: 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST install

I thought u should put the nozzle on the back of the tank cuz with forward momentum the liquid would move to the back of the tank. Is there a reason to do it in the front? Or you just wanted to hide it? Im a newb to meth and trying to understand how to install it since I just ordered my kit last week.

Also I noticed your running the FD wheels. What size spacer u use?

I was trying to conceal everything as much as possible, I didn't think about it until after I had already drilled the hole in the tank. It is fine because the tank is always full. When I install the kit into my Talon, I plan to relocate the tank outlet at the rear (like you mentioned, the forward motion moves the fluid to the rear of the tank)

I think the spacers I used were 7/16" or maybe a 1/4". I would HIGHLY recommend getting the extended wheel studs (same part number as the Evo)

awdwhip,
I do not have my wideband installed so all I have is DSMLink estimates x-/

Re: 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST install

Great write up though. Yea if you ran the 7/16 space that would probably need a spacer. 1/4 maybe not. I dont want to install extended wheel stud cuz of the labor. what do u mean by same part number as evo? U mean if i order them i should go with the Evo ones?
