Been lurking on this forum from quite a while and this is my first post. Got to know Devil's Own product and the site from dvldoc when he joined the local car forum in the Philippines. Here are the installed pics for the 4cyl turbo diesel kit.

Re: 1997 Mazda MPV 2.5L TDI

The Mazda put up some good numbers on the dyno today as well in Manila,

Mazda MPV Dyno

Great results from 1500 to 3000rpm power and torque increases are great but the turbo does fall flat on it's face at around 3600rpms a pre-turbo nozzle would give you alot more gains in your top rpm range like the Starex we Dynod last month.

But look at the max gains which are pretty good for these vehicles, Remember these are not like stateside turbo diesel with big HP but are the most common vehicles in many countries overseas.

1500 rpms 14hp TQ 47LBS Max HP Gain 43% Max TQ gain 46%
2000 rpms 32hp TQ 84LBS Max HP Gain 63% Max TQ gain 65% HUGE!!
2500 rpms 17hp TQ 36LBS MAX HP Gain 20% Max TQ gain 21%
3000 rpms 10hp TQ 19LBS MAX HP Gain 10% Max TQ gain 11%

As we stated before these vehicles have undersized turbos and the pre turbo injection signifiacatly helps them with the top end power Just compare the starex dyno. If he puts on a Pre turbo nozzle the power up to will be much greater. But once again we prove without doubt our system flat out makes power on turbo diesels.

All in all very impressive must be a blast to drive compared to stock.

This is also a good compare between water, ethyl (denatured) and Methanol vs stock.

Heres more details of the dyno from today

dvldoc,

seriuosly thinking of adding pre-turbo nozzle but would prefer to install a DO1. any chance of swap for my leftover nozzles DO2 and DO3?

When was the activation point? It looks like the ethanol squeaked by the methanol in power.

You can probably exchange with speedlab when they get them in stock, We pretty much agree on making that a option on the owner because it works so well on those vehicles. You still have a ton of power from 1500 to 3000 compared to stock.

this one activates at around 4psi. the power between ethyl and meth is almost the same once it reached 2,500rpm. but i might stick with distilled water since power gain is also impressive and very cheap

dvldoc thanks for the info, i guess, more or less, you know now what type of set up is applicable to turbo diesels here in Manila. i'll check with speedlab later when their own install comes out.

yup the added power is amazing. now, the MPV feels lighter as it easily picks up speed.
