Re: 1997 Mazda MPV 2.5L TDI

Back to the filter, just inspected mine on the nozzle post IC; there was a black liquid covering that small insert so I just brushed it off. I suspect it's the dirty air coming from the crankcase ventilation hose that goes to the inlet hose from the air filter. I have recently installed an oil catch can for that so I suppose those were residues before the catch can was installed. DO also reminded me that the small plug is essential, without it the nozzle will just shoot off streams instead of mist.

That MPV is bone stock except for the kit as I remember.

Thanks . No adjustments were done on the MPV.

You're right ! The residue is coming from the exhaust of the crankcase ventilation hose. Based from what I experienced, DO2 nozzle is not adversely affected by this compared to a DO1 nozzle.

I used the DO2 nozzle for about 4 months and had no clogging problem. I've put back the DO2 without cleaning and it still works.

rmpmla,

WOW! That is IMPRESSIVE, and I want some of it!!! And I'm going to get some of it. You're going to be hearing about a hot ( OK, warm) 110 CSW soon. I'll post pics and a report when done. Thanks for the info.
