My 306 dt install

I was running an fmic but it was a bit of a botch up and kept leaking boost so I went back to the top mount and water/meth
On the dds advice on another forum I ran the d01 pre-turbo and he suggested I run the d03 just before the top mount ic

The rest is in but untested yet, I'll post more underbonnet pics of the pump etc when I tidy it up after getting it going properly. To really test this kit I've fitted an iat sensor into the inlet manifold to measure the charge temp with and without the w/m!

Nice one, where's the IAT from and what are you using to display the temperature. Have you tuned the fuel pump and turbo, how much boost?

Re: My 306 dt install

Hi! Cars only back otr now after I made this thread, I'll get a review and more pics up soon, the pump is behind the headlight and tank behind the battery. Its defo working on the ass dyno! I'm gona try post ic instead of before it because my lda diaphram in my pump is filling up with water/meth! I think this is due to the pipe being just below the nossle and pointing downwards.

Mike I'm running 19psi, fueling is upped to a light haze on boost but this vitually disappears when the injection is switched on, though I'm running an 11mm bosch pump with a few other tricks The sensor is from a rover 220tdi and I plan to use a multimeter to measure resistance across the pins which I will then convert to deg c with the good old pen and paper.

Re: My 306 dt install

Isn't post IC still post-LDA? At least pre-IC is further away.
Or is my memory playing tricks on me again? I can't recall but could you not fit it post-LDA tee-off?
Maybe you could ask Bruce about this LDA wetting problem, I think he ran/runs the very same car with dual nozzles etc.

Just move you LDA take off closer to the turbo, you could even T into the Actuator.

I'd wind the boost upto atleast 21psi and definately get that fueling up.

Re: My 306 dt install

I just refreshed my memory and the LDA is not fed from where I thought it was, sorry. I've been staring at these engines for a few years now and I still can't remember layout

Though the feed can be propped to travel up first then down. As it's a dead end, there won't be much air flow and whatever goes in must come back out (bar any leakage).

I'm interested to know exactly where you guys have installed your pre-turbo nozzles now

I fitted a smaller newer k03 turbo because the spool time was much lower down the revs, it makes full boost at 1800-2000 rpm but its tiny and not much good/reliable imo over 19psi. Its getting changed for a much bigger k14-2 from a mercedes soon and I'm planning on 25-27psi. Dont know if the engine can take much more than that?

Was thinking that, might try that first I'm thinking have I activated it with the engine off while I was installing/testing? I will do more tests now the cars my daily driver again. My pre turbo nossle is about a foot from the turbo in the plastic intake pipe, I'll get better pics up at the weekend.

I assumed that's where it was but on the xantia it's a right PITA to work in that area (for me and my spinal troubles) and as I'd previously just reassembled the inlet after a HG job I didn't fancy revisiting it again. Seems an ideal position - pity I didn't have the kit when I rebuilt the head.
