Question Mounting Nozzle in Hose

Hi folks,

I am from Mexico, my car is an Audi TT 03 225Hps, chipped and with a lot of timing pull due to knocking and high IAT.

Looking into WAI as the best option to fix my timing issues, I am still defining my final configuration in order to place a PO.

In order to let the water cool the air as much as possible, looks like the best option would be to put the nozzle in the 2.5" hose that connects the Intercooler to the Throttle Body and the next adaptor is designed for it:

I have two concerns regarding this adapter:

1. I see a risk to the internal nut get loosen and with a lot of boost be pulled until the engine.

2. If an outside nozzle DO5 is used, looks like the nozzle will be used as internal nozzle. If is mounted in this way, won't be so close the nozzle to the center of the hose? Does this will implicate an unproper spray?

If someone have used this adapter I will appreciate any experience or pictures about.

Cheers,

Re: Mounting Nozzle in Hose

Once airflow is passing over the orifice it basically creates a strong vacuum which aids in distribution. The fitting is NPT IE it can't come loose unless you physically did not tighten it.

If you want to forgo the adapter your can simple order a inside mount nozzle they are physically longer than the outside mount and can be mounted in thicker hose with no problems.

Re: Mounting Nozzle in Hose

So, would be funtional to get this adpater with a DO5 nozzle in a 2"-2.5" hose? Do you have the dimensions of the nozzle and adapter lengths? I would like to figure out how far the nozzle would be in this configuration.

The internal nozzles version doesn't looks so nice as the outside ones, that is the reason of my request.

Thanks,

Re: Mounting Nozzle in Hose

Once the nozzle is mounted you'll never see it, But on a 2.5" pipe your looking at about anouther 1/4" loss of space with the adapter, no that's if your pipe is 2.5 Inner diameter and not just the outer diameter. For really small intake hoses I prefer to use them on 3".

Is your Audi TT a 1.8T or Bi-turbo?

Here's how you would use the outside nozzle to mount on the Bi-turbo model.

These might give you some alternate ideals of mounting locations.

Re: Mounting Nozzle in Hose

It's a 1.8T...

I see that in the 1.8T application mounts the nozzle after the TB, but I have read in a lot of places that is recommended put the nozzle before it.

Re: Mounting Nozzle in Hose

That is only if you cannot mount it after. Most cars intakes are not set up that way. Works out great on the 1.8T
