High Compression on the street

My son recently purchased a 408 sm blk chy with 11 to 1 compression with 1.94 cast iron heads, cam is the summit pn#sum-1106 kit, Offy 360 single plane intake, Holley 750 carb, HEI ignition, 1/58 LT headers, My question is will this engine run on 93 octane pump gas or will he need to do something head wise thicker head gasket to lower CR or maybe water injection, Knowing my son he will run it hard, the pistons are domed pop ups 1.5 not sure what that means, He says it will run on 93 the previous owner ran it in a stock car with 110 race gas, Thanks in advance for the help.

Re: High Compression on the street

in a stock car it would need 100 to push the timing way up, however 11:1 static isnt that high, however that cam isnt that big so dynamic compression may be a touch high. it should be ok with 93 pump gas but will have to back the timing down.

Re: High Compression on the street

You can use the stage 2 voltage kit, you will have to add a 1 bar map senssor which the controller will power and read. A DO3 nozzle will get you what you need ass far as 100 plus octane on a 50/50 mix.

Re: High Compression on the street

We don't have 1bar map sensors, you can get one on ebay dirt cheap, You just need to get a square style GM sensor.

Progressive alcohol water methanol injection Devilsown Injection just select the voltage controller.
