My Mini Cooper S is very modified (ported head, large valves, header, exhaust, pulley reduction, etc) and has the potential to reach 240whp with proper tune. The 1.6 is boosted to around 16-17psi with rev limited to 7500. Question is that I've been running a single M5 (5gph 50/50 mix) injector post intercooler and have experienced occasional misfire codes (one stage cooler plugs). The calculator calls for 2.8gph. Am I running too large an injector? Also, is injecting prior to SC deleterious to the blower? Are there advantages/disadvantages as to where the injection takes place? Thanks for your help! You should start out with the D04 nozzle with those specs, The D05 would be closer to 6.5gph. Remember the nozzles are rated at 100psi but the pump puts out much more than that. | |

Hi all, it's my first post. I just got a kit & want to verify nozzle size so I dont blow anything up. So according to the calculator (see below) I need a D05 nozzle correct? ================ Inputs ================ RPM 6200 Boost 25 Liters 2.3 ================ Injector ================ 5.5 gph of fluid flow needed @ 100 psi ================ Other Info ================ CFM 578 BTU 792 TIA, Andrew V |
