Hey guys whats up? I got a 2005 STi and the progressive injection kit. my car has a 2 bar map sensor but im cobb stage 2 and im makin about 17.5psi. I just ran all the wires and hose and wired up my pump and stuff, the only thing im stuck on now is the map sensor wire on my controller. i found the map sensor on my car but the three wires are colored red, orange, and black with a green line. the directions say tap into the green wire but i don't see a green wire? what wire should i tap into and is there anything else anyone can think of that i need to finish this install as far as upgraded map sensors or what not? let me know thanks

Yea i believe i found the right wire. i was a little confused using the voltmeter but i think i found the right one cuase the other two made the pump run without running boost. lol so i think i got the right one, now i switched the controller over from three bar to two bar now i am having problems like i set the start point and it doesn't kick on when it should. i play with the full setting and put it all the way to the end then the lights on the controller go on and it sprays but if i put the full setting on 3/4 of max boost it wont turn on and spray. the lights on the controller only blink on and off like if i move the controller they flash on and off. if that made any sense lol i need help thanks alot

The MAP on a STI is a 2.8 bar from what we know about them, Make sure you are tapped into the map sensor for one. One wire should show zero volts at idle, the other 5v and the other around 1.2 volts which will increase if you give it a rev because the vac till go up. A good place to check is the PCM pin out and make sure it's going back to that sensor. On the WRX the output source is B8. At least on the information we know about it. 2002 WRX ECU Pinouts |

Is it OK to run a 3 bar controller on a 2.8 bar setup. I have a 2002 wrx, what do you know about its map sensor? Is it any different from the 2006 sti....and is the wire color orange off the map sensor, to get signal....the map sensor is located near/on the throttle body.... if not I will volt meter ...... I am interested in what will happen if you run a 3 bar setup on a 2.5 bar map sensor? One other question, is running the tank from the trunk, to the pump in the trunk, to the nozzel ok if using the check valve or is a spare solinoid necessary ......using a 12L spec c JDM tank w/ pump + the Devils injection pump... You can use the MAF is you like, Alot of EVO guys do it and get the same effect. I'm pretty sure a 2002 WRX has a 2 bar sensor it actually reads up to only 17psi so a 3bar controller would be pretty far off. On a 02 WRX the pin out should be just as shown in that diagram since it is a 02 schematic. I really don't see the need to switch maps while driving, If you have a boost controller just turn down the boost and put the source of alcohol activation on a toggle. |
