Tuning a S/C car
I'm about to start tuning my car. I'm running a 6.5# pulley. I just stepped up from a 5# with no w/m injection. This was tuned for 11.8 AFRs and very conservative timing.
I've put together a progressive setup and plan to run a 50/50 mix of water and methanol. But I need to start tuning for the increased boost. Should I start by tuning for the 6.5psi without injection and then add the w/m? or should I just tune for the w/m and not risk the damage to the motor.
My car doesn't have a knock sensor or EGT gauge.
I was told by a tuner that has extensive experience that 12.2 is a good AFR for the 6.5# with w/m injection.
Re: Tuning a S/C car
Most tune to 11.5 to 12.0 and increase there timing. Adding the w/m will not cause any damage if your not tuned for it. Some will lose a bit of power some will gain, every car is different it depends on to many factors to give a direct answer. But for the norm is your running the correct nozzle size you should pick up as much power as you would running race gas.
