now, i've never dyno'd my car. but i've got a 3400lb car that has a baseline of 200hp/200lb/ft torque. its s/c, roots type i believe, and intercooled. auto transmission. alcohol spray comes on at 8psi. i upgraded my s/c pulley to 11PSI (stock is 5-6), air filter, muffler, and i'm running methanol injection. EDIT: i just realized that i'm pretty sure my MAF is post supercharger, post intercooler. does that seem unorthodox to anyone? isnt the MAF usually pre-s/c? the problem is, i have a MAS before the throttle body, so when i did the original install, i put the nozzle directly over the throttle body. now, its hard for me to tell, but sometimes i swear i could feel the alcohol injection kick in. ....shouldnt i be getting some very "feelable" HP increase numbers from doing this setup? i mean, if my car feels spunkier just on a nice cool dry day, then why wouldnt i be able to really feel the power kick in when the alcohol injection comes on? i just feel like my "butt dyno" should be giving me a more sure-fire indication that i'm spraying here.... im just a might confused because sometimes i swear theres no difference. i've run it empty, then filled it up and my reaction was always like "well, i think- maybe a little". i was just syaing that if driving on a cool night gives more of a reaciton, maybe i'm doing something wrong. how do i adjust the pump pressure? i never touched any settings from when i got the pump from devils own. maybe they come with the pressure very low.... Playing with the screw on the top of the pump will get you less than 10 to 15psi depending on what nozzle size your running. Needing more in not always the answer, sometimes you need less. If your running pig rich then you will be slower even if your not getting knock. For that engine i would be running a M3 nozzle which will be spraying at well over 170psi.

ah, very true. i am running the 3gph nozzle- i did the calculator, with a 2.3L, 11PSI engine, and a 6500rpm redline, i'd need 2.6gph nozzle. so should i start playing with the pressure and see what happens with performance? i'm certainly no dummy when it comes to tinkering with cars, i know what i'm doing. is there a baseline for adjusting the pressure, as far as screw turns or whatever? for instance- "for less pressure, try backing out the screw 1/4 turn at a time" or anything like that? thanks again.... |

If you have the Progressive Controller, using a larger nozzle is not that big of a factor if you tune properly.
