So... 1st off...Anyone interested can see the pics in the install section http://www.alcohol-injection.com/for...-pics-278.html I've been running a SMC kit on my '99 GTP for about a year now and it has worked just great execpt that with those kits (well, my old one) you cant run any water or it corrodes the damn pump! So I had been running mostly 100% denatured alcohol but really wanted to get a devils own pump and tank.. etc. (kinda a devils own hybrid) Well with the a lot of help from everyone here and ClubGP I made the jump. ![]() I took the old pump/tank combo out (man, that pump was RUSTY!) and then took all of my old braided line out of the engine compartment (too short and too expensive.. plus funky fittings)... and I re-ran the whole engine compartment side of the kit... EVERYTHING between the wire harness to the nozzle! I tapped the GTP washer fluid tank with a 1/8 NPT tap and screwed a devils own male 1/8npt to easy connect 1/4 hose right in with some JB weld as a backup thread seal. The line goes from there through my front bumper to the pump below the drivers headlight next to my FWI.... And then right up to the TB spacer and nozzle in the engine compartment. I now have a more tune-able kit with everything hidden, and about 3x's the size tank! My main concern was leaks.... I had a bad feeling somethingsomewhere wouldnt fit right, crossthread, or fail under pressure. After getting the kit together I took it for a test run and saw a nice drop in KR (vs no alcohol).. but noticed the pump was at about 60-80 on the psi guage. (btw, no, I dont have the guage pressure snubber thingy) I took my headlight out wich gives great access to the top of the pump and turned the screw 6x's and tried again.... WOW! The 100 psi guage spun almost 1 1/2 times around! Talk about a major change! I am betting this will definately yeild better atomization and better results. The old pump couldnt get past 60psi on its best day. I DID notice that after the pump starts it takes a minute to get the pressure flow up there though. (maybe like a 2 second delay).. Ofcourse this was just sitting in my driveway hitting the test switch. We'll see what happens on the street later. Now to get that Gen5 |

On my practice runs to see if it was working well I noticed that. I havent even touched my stock table for the WOT timing and I went from 15-16.6* to 16-18* with the alcohol being the ONLY differnce. Just wait till I get in there to add some more |
