Figured i would post it publicly because i had no response (i am sure you guys are busy) Hi i have a 1997 GTP.... I recently became interested in the concept of trying water/meth and what not..... I have many friends using it with success on many different types of cars and i would like to give it a try.... So i was wondering if you had any more good reading or informantion you could share with me...... I noticed you also use it on your grand prix.... My thing, i am not really using it to say be able to run a smaller pulley or what not.... I would rather run more timing.... My concept is that it is easier for the pcm to pull timing on a failure then it is to get the boost out of the cylinders..... Currently i have SLP headers, 1.9 roller rockers, custom pcm, fwi, ect ect... Running a 3.4 pulley..... I plan on doing a P&P blower and a ZZP stage 1 tb very soon... Then water meth... I am currently running 17* of timing and would like to be able to say run about 20* of timing with the water/meth...... I am not looking to be greedy, i ran 14.0@102 on the setup WITHOUT the rockers and ON a 3.5" pulley.... I feel i should be able to run about a 13.7@104 with the setup how it is now..... If i could get low 13's at 106-107ish with all the added mods and alcohol i would be happy.. Also i was wondering what size nozzle i should run and if say i could run a little smaller nozzle on a stock tune until i was able to get a tune on it. And is the kit complete? |

Kits are complete, You will need to get a throttle body spacer or you can tap the top of your throttle body or top of the supercharger right by the throttle body connection. With a stock tune you can get away with a nozzle size of 2gph on 50/50 to get rid of most knock issues. These cars are picky and act very different from one to anouther when it comes to modding. I was running low 13's with similar mods so I don't think you should be far off. Got the car down to 13.08 with close to the same mods. Of course I was running a 2.7 pulley and 26 degrees of timing ;) |

Yea, a tb spacer is no problem. What size is the nozzle that would go in the spacer... I have a buddy with one that was already tapped and want to see if it would work? Yea that is very true about these cars.... But i mean i could get a few different nozzles and try some different mixes right? Might be able to find one that works better then the rest..... I am a track hound and dont mind testing What was your trap speed on that 13.0 pass? |

The good thing with the outside mount nozzles you don't have to remove the spacer. I would start out with the DO2 nozzle with your mods, since you have already increased flow with the headers, rockers, ect. Then if your kr free and are faster then leave it were it is. Trap speeds were only around 104 to 105 i ran MT ET Drags on 15" steelies. Street tires I would smoke them to the 1/8th mile mark. I remember I ran a 13.5 with a 3.6 60ft time lol. |
