The controllers only know one thing and that's voltage. On a 2 bar controller 2.5v is 2psi that is the lowest reading it will pick up then the scale goes to 30.
On the 3 bar it simple uses a different scale 1.8v being 2psi. You can change the controller over to 2 bar mode it's pretty simple or you can leave it as is and do the conversion for your set points.

You can go either way. The activation lights will also be one of your main keys. Do not set below 6.5 psi because the 3bar will start injecting because on a 2 bar it is different (it's in vacuum up to 2.5v) 6psi above that in 3 bar mode.
