3 bar progressive kit on a 2bar sensor

I was wondering if I could hook up the 3bar progressive kit to my 2 bar sensor. The reason I am asking is I currently have a 2 bar map sensor and will be going to a 3 bar in the near future. When I put in the 3 bar sensor I have to start from scratch with getting my car to run and I don't really have time to do that til next fall. I know the setting will not be the same but I think I could get by with it til I upgrade everything

Re: 3 bar progressive kit on a 2bar sensor

The controllers only know one thing and that's voltage. On a 2 bar controller 2.5v is 2psi that is the lowest reading it will pick up then the scale goes to 30.

On the 3 bar it simple uses a different scale 1.8v being 2psi. You can change the controller over to 2 bar mode it's pretty simple or you can leave it as is and do the conversion for your set points.

Link to change the controller over, mind you the numbers on the face plate will be wrong unless you order a new faceplate.

You can go either way. The activation lights will also be one of your main keys. Do not set below 6.5 psi because the 3bar will start injecting because on a 2 bar it is different (it's in vacuum up to 2.5v) 6psi above that in 3 bar mode.

Thanks. Thats all I need to know. I did not realize the controller was that easy to switch back and forth.
