Default ALKY Issues

Although most of you will see this as attacking the alcohol kit but im still intrested in buying one but after having some hands on experience with the kit ..im a little weary.

I just want a good product to be better.

1. why doesn't your kit come with instructions?
(we have to print slopokes that doesnt work for many applications)
and as for instructions the technical communication is the existing instructions is a little weak

2. if we buy the spacer why would it come with an extra t brass fitting?
(each kit should only come with what you use)

3. also, did you use a boat wiring harness?
(just seems like something better could be used for this)

4. the hose and the fitting to the washer fluid tank was a tough fit.
(was it us having a problem or is it just suppose to be a incredibly tight fit)

5. i dont remmeber but screws for the throttle body spacer had some issues we used the map throttle body space bolts.

6. the mounting spot for the pump is in my oppion a really poor choice.
there is no room to adjust pressure of pump...line routing difficult...headlight wouldnt fit back in....also it needs some sort of bracket not just a little 8mm bolt

Ok, now that i have lashed into the product i need to say a few positive things....

i found each/most individual parts to be hight quality and perfect match for its purpose.

pretty easy install but i expeced more plug and play

thanks in advance for input

Did you buy the map the power drop connector? If not, you should because that's about as plug n play as you can get.
Just my 02 but anytime I have had an issue or a problem, bilal has taken care of it immediately.

Here's some answers for ya.

1. why doesn't your kit come with instructions?
(we have to print slopokes that doesnt work for many applications)

As far as instructions goes 90% of makes use PDF files for there instructions to print out the instructions for every kit adds to the cost. This kit is the simpliest kit to install period. The kit is already 75% assembled when you get it. It's not a big box of parts which is what everyone else sells. This is why we have a forum, everyones skill level is different . Those directions are for the average modder. Any and all questions are answered same day on this forum period. I routinley give my home and cell number to those who have questions.

2. if we buy the spacer why would it come with an extra t brass fitting?
(each kit should only come with what you use)

Only 2 spacers have been shipped Stait from Brian Teel, all the rest from me and they are fully assembled why you get them. They were set up no different then the alcohol controll spacer as far as nozzle location and mounting. You guys wanted flush mounting I gave it to you with pics and directions. I don't know what you mean by T-fitting because that has nothing to do with the spacer. We use T's for using a pressure guage or dual nozzle set up's

3. also, did you use a boat wiring harness?
(just seems like something better could be used for this)

There called molded connecors I use them because they are weather proof and have a harder outer case than standard automotive wire.
With every product there comes changes and I now use 2-contact Molded Connectors. This also allows mounting the pump pretty much anywere on any vehicle.

4. the hose and the fitting to the washer fluid tank was a tough fit.
(was it us having a problem or is it just suppose to be a incredibly tight fit)
Did you try a little WD-40 on the hose end? Beside that I use a different fitting now anyways (process improvement) all you do is attach the hose just like you do the rest of them.

5. i dont remmeber but screws for the throttle body spacer had some issues we used the map throttle body space bolts. Only a few sets have gone out with bolts instead of studs because the studs were out of stock. I have had good old M6 *1.00 pitch bolts in both my GTP's throttle body spacers for 2+ years. The studs are only there to help place the throttle body on easier just like the guide pin. Those are thereaded holes and they go all the way through the housing. I'm discountinuing the Spacers anyways because the maching cost of doing 30 at a time is not worth what I charge for them which is $5 over cost to make the kit easier to install for the costomer. Besides the ZZP one is only $4 bucks more.

6. the mounting spot for the pump is in my oppion a really poor choice.
there is no room to adjust pressure of pump...line routing difficult...headlight wouldnt fit back in....also it needs some sort of bracket not just a little 8mm bolt

Well everyone has a opinion on that one. It just happens to be the easiest place to mount the pump. The headlight mounting in case you don't no has nothing to do with the pumps location. There is a nitch that it must slip in to fit properley both on the front and the sides. I just leave the stock bracket on there now anyway for all the kits because it saves me time.

As far as plug and play for the GTP it couldn't be any easier to install with the powerdrop and MAP piggy back.

The kit has gone through many upgrades since the first units were made to make everything perfect. That's why I listen to the customers input. The things you brough up are nothing new.

I use a 1/8" NPT fitting with a 1/4 tube end on it. I need to update the webpage. I've been hela busy with the SRT-4 group buy and turbo diesel stuff lately.

I can vouch for Jash here, it was my kit. The areas of concern for us were in the engine compartment, not the wiring. The routing of the lines was fine once the mounting was on the inside air box area. The spacer caused us to scratch our heads the most, four guys doing a cam install...which went very well I might add....were looking at this and wondering how to install it into the spacer. I ordered the spacer separately and it shipped after I received the kit. That was an issue Jash did not know about. We will see once we go to the track and I get the injectors and the PCM straight. We will be working hard getting this all straight doing so much at the same time. We were referencing the instructions by Chris and you and still did not find the answer. Once WE get it straight we will let you know the results Bilal.

Steve

edit The spacer studs from the MAP spacer were removed, the ones from the spacer sold to us went in and then the spacer would not fit on the studs sent. We removed the studs sent, put the MAP ones in and we were good to go.
