i have a rough idle with my car. its actually misfiring alot in cylinder 1(near the nozzles). i thought i fouled a plug or the coilpack on my car was going bad but i changed them. when i unhook the line from the check valve, everything idles prefectly.

The check valve is a simple ball and spring type. I had gotten debris in mine (probably from stuff in the washer tank over the years) and it was not sealing properly. I had rough idle, misfires, and Oxygen Sensor DTCs. I used an airgun to blow through the check valve (after removing it) and then took it apart (easy to do, but didn't need to) to make sure there was nothing to lodge between the ball and valve seat.

Now, everything is running great. Check your check valve.

I am having the same problem. I have taken mine apart once already and it looked fine. I will have to take it apart tomorrow morning again and see if i can find anything. Was your system leaking when it was turned off to?

Not that I could tell, but it may have. When you checked your valve, did you take it apart or just look at it? If you have compress air, you could try blowing through the valve in the direction of water flow.

The stuff I had that clogged my valve looked like a very tiny plasting shaving (almost like a piece of lint) from when I drilled the hole.
