Re: DVC-30 Stage 2 kit problem

Sounds like you have it hooked up wrong.

Pumps black should go to the blue wire from the controller

Pumps red wire should go to a ignition on source not 12 volt constant

Red from controller to ignition on

Black from controller to a good, metal to metal ground.

Boost port connected to vac/boost line. Check this line to see if it's actually has a vac to it. And make sure no leaks are in that line. If you have a boost gauge it's simple to just put a t fitting in that line to run the controller.

iv set it up like you said and still not working the only way the pump will work is by wiring it up direct. there must be something wrong with the controller

Re: DVC-30 Stage 2 kit problem

Have you check to see if the line is actually getting vac and boost?

And there are no kinks or possible tears in the hose going to the boost port/

Re: DVC-30 Stage 2 kit problem

checked vacuum pipe ok. disconected water meth pipe from manifold put into catch pan connected vacuum pipe from controller to a small compressor via a pressure gauge and the controller would only activate the pump at 15/16 psi any less than this and it would not operate everything else is ok seems to be a too high setting on the pressure switch in the controller

Also check the tip of the boost port and make sure it is not damaged (cracked).
Same thing for the union fitting. If it is still giving you issues give the shop a call about doing a return. These can get damaged in shipping ect.

Re: DVC-30 Stage 2 kit problem

I have the new universal dvc 30 stage 2 kit with the boost reference port built into the dvc30 controller. Mine is acting the same way. to test I have hooked an air compressor up to the hose that normally is plugged into the carburetor hat that is for boost reference. If I have the start at 2 and max at 5 it does not come on until about 12psi. I have hooked a mechanical boost Gage up to the hose that feeds the dvc30 controller and it is seeing full amount of boost. as I increase pressure the pump speeds up just like it is supposed to do. It is almost like the controller is calibrated incorrectly. if I turn the start and the max all the way up it acts the same only difference is that it starts to come on at 17psi instead of 12psi. I will call tomorrow.

It is possible the coding is off on the dials as they are digital potentiometers.

They are covered by warreaty for free replacement. You can contact the shop about doing a return at our contact number.

Guys,

dont use compressor to test .. always use a bicyle pump with gauge..trust me that could stuff up controller.

Re: DVC-30 Stage 2 kit problem

I have a regulator that I put a gage on along with the fittings to connect to the boost reference port and to the compressor hose. I always start with 0 psi and slowly come up to the desired psi. the very first time that I hooked this up to this unit it would not start the pump until I hit just above 10 psi. But I do agree that a bicycle pump would be safer.

Note: Devilsown has informed me that the first batch of these DVC-30 stage 2 Controllers have a programing error and that is why we are having issues with them. So if you need your kit to work under 10 psi it will not.
