Default Dvldoc- Big Big Big Big Problem

Ok this could get kind of long, but i am going to be as specific as possible as to whats going on with my alcohol kit. First its the kit from the first group buy, it has the stage 1 controller. We mounted the pump where you recommended. The hose is run through the little crevis to the washer fluid tank, and mounted at the very bottom. I have a zzp throttle body spacer that we drilled as close to the install instuctions as possible. The ground goes where recommended, and i have the power hooked up to a reliable power source. The green wire goes from the controller what we are pretty sure is the map sensor. Its middle back of the engine down a little ways back by the evap stuff. Anyways when we first hooked it all up it worked great we took it onto the highway and i had 1* kr at the 2-3 shift point. So i went back home did some stuff and then went back out. The very next time i got on it the pump lite came on, but as it progressed to full, it started flashing. Since i didn't know the problem i pulled over and unhooked power. Later that night, i went back out hooked it back up and it was ok until the light tried to progress to full again, then blink blink blink. So i unhooked it again and went to bed. Then this morning, re wired everything, so its all 100% for sure hooked up properly. Went back out, as soon as the light tries to progress to full, blink blink blink. Come back the pump is cold, so i know its not overheating. We then looked at it in the driveway with it spraying, we discovered a slight problem when it started spraying we developed a leak. So we took the check valve off and low an behold there is a packing peanut stuck in the check valve, probably was stuck in a hose and blew into the check valve. Anyways we then cleaned the check valve as best visably as possible. Started the car with it hooked up, but no check valve, it appeared to spray, but was flooding hte car without the check valve. We then blew air through the check valve and discovered another piece of packing peanut. Put the check valve back on and the problem is the same. So i have no idea what is going on, i would still venture to guess its something stuck in the check valve. BUt what is your opinion.

It's the low current sensing on the controller going off. I can PM you how to mod your controller to get rid of it. This is one of the tweaks we did to the new controllers. Looks like the pulsing from the pumps pressure switch sets it off. Shurflo pumps pulse (turn off when they hit there pressure point). When the psi is low on the pump the pulsing is slower and the controller pics this up and throws the low current warning. You not the only one who has had this issue.

We have eliminated this issue with the second batch of controllers.

I'll PM you how to do it. you just need a soldering iron and some 30 gauge wire you can get at radio shack. Takes about 5 minutes to do.

You don't, the batch I'm getting in next week are the new ones. The only differece is a resistor and a zener diode have been removed and a union has been made between a circuit. Basically what this does is applies 5V to the current sensing threshold line of the microcontroller.

So we have to crack open out controllers to make this fix??? I dont know about everyone else, but I would rather send this one back for an updated one.

You only need it if your having the low current issue. If you want to send yours in I'll be happy to mod it for free and pay the return shipping.

And that right there is the reason I'd only get an alcohol kit from Bilal.
