| I bought the black float switch as pictured on the website. I'm going to drill a hole in my tank and put this in - but how does this thing get wired up ? 1) Is there a way to wire it so a light on the controller comes on when my fluid level drops below a certain level ? - or - 2) How would an Led get wired in to come on when fluid level is low ? |

I've not installed my float switch for some time and have decided to finally add it ... Now on your float page >>> http://www.alcohol-injection.com/wat...switch-71.html It states the following >>> "Can be used with our controller as a warning system, Connect this level switch to the chassis ground with one of it's wires and the other to the pumps ground wire. When the level drops the fault light on the controller will activate when the system sees your start point of boost. Or this can be wired to an led light." So, is this not correct ... This is how I planned to install mine so that I didn't have to add an LED somewhere within the vehicle ... Please let me know ... Thanks! | |

Yes this is correct if you wire the switch to un-ground the pump when it is at a low level then the controller fault light will activate, However this will turn off your alcohol injection. The other way is to wire it to a LED so you have a early warning but you still have the system on. |

But surely you would want it wiring up so that it switched the pump off if you were low ???? going just with LED you would run the risk of missing it flashing and ending up running WI with nothing in it....or am I missing something |

Thats why it is best to wire a LED indicator but you can wire it in the controller, The fact that you know your system will be off will keep you from getting into the throttle. Some people will keep pushing it even after the LED says low. (just like low fuel) I think i got enough ![]() The controller will warn you as soon as you hit your start point so you know that very second you should not get into the boost. And of course you should be tuned to the point were you don't get enough KR to cause any problems with the system off. |
