Default How do you use the Stage 1 controller?

I know one is for pump turn on pressure, but which one and what does the other one do??

Also, is there a formula on how much pressure to turn the pump to, to the ratio of mods?

I running a 3.25 pulley now
but if I want to run a 3.0 and 2.8, what has to be done?

I have the supporting mods for the 3.0 and 2.8, just need to know what pressure everything should be at..

How do I know what psi the pump is at, I don’t have it hooked to pressure gauge?

I think that’s it for now.

the left dial selects the boost pressure that the pump turns on at.
the right dial selects the boost pressure that the pump goes to a 100% duty cycle (full voltage to the pump- this brings the pump pressure to whatever you have it set at via the set screw at the top of the pump)

for example- if you have the left dial set to 4, and the right dial set to 8: when your car hits 4psi of boost, the pump will maybe get 1/2 the operating voltage it needs. as your boost psi approaches 8, the pump will get more and more voltage until at 8psi it gets full voltage and is pumping at full power.
(this is how i believe it works, but please correct me if i am wrong)

as far as what to set the pump at, it all depends on your car. you need to scan the car to get it dialed in right. but with a 3.25 pulley i was seeing up to 5* of KR, and with the pump set at 60psi (what it was set to when it was shipped to me), it got rid of all of it.

without a pressure gauge, you really cant know for sure what the pressure is, but i believe they are set at 60psi when they are shipped, and then you can make adjustments from there based on the number of turns of the set screw on the top of the pump. if you havent played with that set screw, it should be at 60psi. although the pump pressure is trivial, because if you are scanning and tuning your car it wont matter what the pressure is- it just matters whether it is too much or too little.

i wish i could have answered your questions with: set the pump to XX and XX, and you will be fine, but all the cars react different.
hope that helps.

Pump pressure is a BIGGIE. Me for example. I run a Nic cam, heads, togs etc. I also have a 2.75 as a daily driver. I was getting SEVERE stutter with even the stock 60lbs. I moved it to 50 and that is magic for me. Now most people have to max the pump (unless you bypass the pressure valve) to get desired results.
Another GREAT reason to install the kit as I wrote is that you can remove the driver side hood stop and right there is the pressure screw. Makes for easy pump adjustments.
Here is what to be on the look for. Drive the car with no alcohol scan for KR. Now, drive with the alcohol at the stock 60lbs setting and re-scan. If you get stutter and MORE kr on the top and mid end you have too much pressure.
If your KR drops slightly but, you still have KR then you need to increase the pump a half a turn at a time. The key to tuning is SMALL, VERY SMALL adjustments at a time.
Now, you want to set the activation dial (left) to 1 to 2 psi before you see KR. so if you get KR at 6lbs of boost set it for 4 etc etc. Now. Full should be right about 2psi BEFORE your max KR. You will NEVER get alcohol right out of the box. It just will not happen. If you are looking for a turn key solution Intercooling is the choice. BUT if you want to make Globs of power, never have to buy race fuel again and ensure that you will never have carbon build up again in your motor this is the price you pay.
Take care,
-Chris

Ok, that clears up allot. Thanks guys

I know allky is not, just install and ready to go racing. It takes tuning and patience’s.

Another question

Is my check valve hooked up in the right direction?

Better tune perfectly then, I have a few of them around me that are VERY IMPRESSIVE. Down low they can't even stay in the same ball park as a gtp but, on top WATCH OUT. I have yet to be beaten by any of them even off the bottle BUT, it was very very close.
Happy hunting.
