how many check valves are supposed to be hooked up?

my kit came with two, one loose one and one already hooked up on the hose like on the pic on the main page at the end of the hose before the copper end that would go to the nozzle. and just to clarify the valves arrow should be pointing towards the jet right?

I also had 2 check valves in my kit....thought that was odd, mine was hooked up right next to the spacer pointing in the direction of flow.

Looks like you got a extra.

But that's how it hooks up.
