Exclamation just an idea...

although this might not get answered because its not a Devils own product...but i still think it should be discussed for us alchy injectors. were a small breed. stick together....

so, to be able to be fully tunable with AI, you need a way to adjust the duty cycle and size of the nozzle. why not use a small injector? honda i think use 220cc. by lowering the duty cycle and flow, wouldnt this be a much better, more tunable way to inject methanol?

my idea as i see it right now...

one low rate injector (220cc or smaller) mounted on a custom fuel rail made for the single injector.

one carburator in-line fuel pump (usually flow about 6-14psi)
a fuel regulator, to make sure the methanol. is always in-line and doesnot suck air.

and a 3 gal fuel cell. to house the methanol.

essentially, this would be a single injector, secondary set-up. but with methanol instead of gas. im pretty sure a gas style injector will give more fine mist than AI nozzles. and with a standalone, tunabilty seems endless compared to current AI tuning.

discuss...

The fuel injector would be dead in a matter of weeks, The methanol would destroy the seals on the inside. Methanol injectors tend to be very spendy MSD carries such a injector but you still have to replace the outer o-rings periodicaly. As well methanol flows at a much higher rate than fuel so your 220cc value will mean nothing when running methanol through it.

A progressive unit does a pretty good job in metering flow. Besides you have to think of it like this how long does it take for you to boost up. How much gain will be made in 1 to 3 seconds of ramp up? Will your HP increase, A/F ratios change, IAT's differ. Probably not enough to even measure.
