I installed 2 new check valves today and replaced the solinoid valve. It idle rough, the check would not hold its cracking pressure let alone vacum. I could feel the vacum leak with the line off at idle with my finger. I removed the faulty check and "streched' the spring. This stopped the fuel being drawn in at idle. My concern is I have one untouch check and another with a uknown spring pressure. Since these checks are on seperate throttle blades I am concern about unequal flow. Is there a spring length measurement that you can give me? Also the gauge goes to 0 showing now residual line pressure, is this a problem? When I used a solinoid valve it would mantain pressure over night. |

The spring pressure is only 22psi, which will bleed back into the pumps head after a while, which hold several ounces of fluid on the out side. There is normally no fluid after the check valve or a soleniod. Solenoids hold the pressure at just about the pumps output pressure which can cause increased wear.

Both check valves are leaking now. The untouched one and the one with the stretched spring. I verified this with a vacum gauge - both drawing threw the check at high vaccum. I need this repaired as soon as possible as it is my daily driver and I am using 3 gallons of meth/water on the way to work and back without getting on the throttle. Is there a problem with this new style valve? As I would dought that I could get 2 defects at once. Last edited by first/thridgen; 09-12-2007 at 09:05 PM. |

Both ends have 1/8" male pipe thread. I have restretch both springs and holding 25psi right now. I will see how this will work and relay the info back at a later date as I am unable to run with out the system. If there is a problem I would have to say it has loss of spring pressure over several cycles. As well as new springs having incorrect tension or length variations. |

There is a problem with the check valves that I have. I finished off the season last year using a old nitrous solinoid and some hose. (alot of lag time with this due to the amount of hose after the valve - working check valves woud be perfered) I recently revisited the check valves with a vacum gauge/pump. Will not hold a vacum. I notice when first installed and working well with the nozzle plate removed there was good patern but alot of chatter out of the valves when the pump was cycled. After a week of operation the flow perfered one side, unequal cracking pressure -> then a vacum leak to supply tank. It may be due to having 2 checkvalves in parellel with each other I am not sure, I will be very surprised new valves will last any time at all. This chatter is like putting several hundred cycles on a minute and may weaking the spring. Is it a problem with my set up? Is there any other dual nozzel behind the throttle valve set up working with some miles on it? I will go with a single nozzle behind throttle blade if the check valve will function correctly, but I need to now before I go drilling a hole in my manifold. I do not have enough clearance to run a solinoid in the desired locations other wise there would be pair already installed. |

Do not run the check valves in parallel with each other, If your running two nozzles use a y fitting to split them and run a single inline check valve.
