Unhappy nothing happening? *NEED HELP*

just got the Progressive Controller a couple days ago and am having problemsgetting it working. i previously had a different kit that involved working off boost with a pressure switch. i disconnected the wiring on the bost pressure switch and was installing the controller.

- i tapped the pink wire(+12v) onto my Timing commander since it was already spliced into a constatn 12v as well.
- i also grounded the black wire fro the controller to the metal frame.
- i tapped the green wire in the engine bay to the green wiring harness on the map sensor.
- for the blue and final wire i think thats where im having issues.

the pump i have is an older model of the shurflo pump, which is rated at 100psi. one of the wires on the pump is already grounded so i didnt touch it, the other wire i connected it with the blue wire from the controller. with key on the controller shows a solid red light. i lowered the "Start" to 2psi and the "Full" to 9psi, and went out and tested it. nothing happened. now im stuck figuring out what i did wrong that doesnt seem to power the pump. i believe its somewhere in the engine bay with the pump but theres only 2 wires on it, one for ground and the other to get power??

FYI, my car's a 98 Grand Prix GTP. thank you so much for your help guys.

i just realize something. on the instructions that the site supplied, under instruction 7.8, am i suppose to tap another wire to the battery's +positive and tap it onto the blue wire as well? if so, i'll need to get another inline fuse to prevent any over-current being drawn. please let me know, thanks!!!

Pink of the controller goes to your ignation on.
Black good ground
Green make sure its got a good connection to the map sensor this is the most common problem
blue, to the red wire of the pump, no other wires connect to this

Now when the unit powers up veryfy that it blinks 2 times. This is the 2nd most common problems.

Double check your Green and Blue wire connections. If your MAP connection isn't good enough it'll either spray sporatically or it won't register boost and won't spray at all.

will once i turn the key to 'On' the controller doesnt blink, it just stays a solid red. i made certain the green wire from the controller is connected to the green wire on the MAP sensor thoroughly. i connected the blue wire to the only other wire on the pump available, the other wire on the pump gets grounded(already grounded from previous use of boost pressure switch). i also tapped the pink wire on the controller to the timing commander which also needs a constant 12v when the key is 'On'. same goes with the black, its grounded to the chassis fairly well.

what about the instructions on 7.8? do i need to also tap another wire onto the blue wire and the other end of the 'other' wire with the positive(+) terminal at or near the battery?

You said you have a older pump do you also have a older controller, Our first units did not have the switchable ability and did not blink when powered up.

The blue wire goes strait to the pump red positive wire. As long as the pump is grounded and the Map sensor connection is good it should activate. on a GM vehicle because a green 5v output is not true for every vehicle.

On GM vehicles it will be the center wire no matter what, check with a voltmeter. To test the system take the grey wire and touch it to the green, it the system come on you know it is connected properly. If it does not it's most likely the map sensor or a bad ground somewere, also if you have a inline fuse check it.

On a 98 GTP that map sensor connector tends to be destroyed if you disconnected because of the super small gauge wire on them.

ok dlvdoc, i'l make sure the center wire on the MAP sensor is connected and securely crimped. the pump i have has the adjustable hex on top. what do you mean by older controller? the kit i bought from another forum member on clubgp said its a coolingmist kit with the boost pressure activation switch.

dvldoc, i just got your new controller, its like a month old when i bought it from you. i still get a solid red LED when i turn my key to "On". i conencted everything as rocket said and my controller stays a solid red and it wont blink twice(2). i made certain the MAP sensor and the green wire from the controller is tight as humanly possible for a connection.

FWIW back a month ago when i first tried to install the controller i accidentally applied the pink wire from the controller to the (+)positive bolt on the fusebox, causing the pump to pressurize. i caught notice of this and quickly disconnected the pink wire from the (+)positive bolt on the fusebox. i had to run the car since there were some washer fluid sprayed into the supercharger. would this cause the controller go into some fault mode and cause the Red LED light to stay on whenever the key is turned to the "On" position?

could i have the older controller's? i would assume since its 2007 i would of gotten a newer one(just bought it a month ago like mentioned above). im gonna go out alter and test it with a full tank of washer fluid and see if it gets used when i go into boost. im gonna set the start/turn-on at 2psi and see. i'll set the full psi at like 12psi.
