Default Problems w/ prog cont and hp tuners

I hooked up the Progressive Controller and it works on my 2003 Z06

It is wired into an ignition source.

When I upload a calibration file to the car's pcm using hp tuners, the pump comes on full tilt during the programming.

Also, even if I remove the ground wire to the prog cont. it still continues to work.

So I am now looking for a power source that is only live when the car is running unless I find another solution.

Any suggestions?

does it only do this when using HP tuners?
seems the simple repair would to be to find another power source

Like another car?

If the key is on, then while I am programing the pcm, the map signal voltage must change just enough that theprogressive controller causes the pump to shoot full tilt.

I have a switch in line at the moment.

Hmm, i have not seen this happen, I have hp tunner too. I will messure my map to see if it gives a readout during writing. Just curious where you have the start set to?

as low as possible..I am using it just to cool the charge a little in this application

At times, it dumps a little meth and at others it unloads bigtime

I pulled over to the side of the road when tuning the car and when hp wrote the calibration, it emptied the entire w/w reservoir into the intake.

took me bout 30 minutes to get the car started..thought i as going to blow up...

Not sure, but mostly it will not do it if I turn the start knob up a tad

Anyho, a simple switch is my short term cure, but if I forget to turn it on, then maybe KABOOM....

If I turn the start knob up, it mostly doesn't happen, but sometimes it does...I am using the latest version of hp tuners. and running 2 bar sd os

It sounds like the programmer is making your map sensor go to 5volts when it's running which will run the pump with the controller on. Have you checked the voltage going to the controller when your running the software, You can do this with the nozzle holder disconnected so you don't run the pump with the car not on.

I know that it must be throwing voltage at it...

The switch takes care of the problem, just thought you guys shoud know, if you sell a kit to hp tuners people and maybe efi live, i don't know

We know GTO's that run EFI live with no problem.

Running a second 2 bar MAP with get rid of this issue all together.

That would work..but $50 more, but Yes it is a solution

Actually the switch worked out fine, in tht it allows us to tune with and w/o the meth

Thx
