Hi, I just found out that fluid is not going through my pump, but i can still hear the motor turning. I have been using 100% methanol. Could it be that i need a new valve assembly? I tried using pure water and new piping, but the water level didn't go down any. Also tried cleaning out the valve assembly, but that didnt help anything. Any suggestions? Thanks, Andrew

no luck. i couldnt even suck water through. i put the outlet tube under water, and bubbles blew out. Also i just noticed that when i complete the circuit, it will not start all the time. Same result with hooking the pump motor up bypassing the switch. Could my pump be starting to die?

I recently ran into a situation like this. I thought my pump was toast. As it turned out, when the pump INLET side needs to be reprimed, it won't do so unless the OUTLET side is unrestricted by the check valve/nozzle. Before figuring this out, I went as far as removing the pump to bench test it, and when I did test it, it primed perfectly. I reinstalled it and it wouldn't prime again. Then I opened up the outlet just before the check valve and it primed instantly. I'm sure it's a case of the pump not having enough force to crack the check valve when it's just pumping air. Since the CV doesn't crack, there's no flow. Since there's no flow, it won't prime. No problems since learning this the hard way.

You always have to prime the pump prior to installing the check valve or it will not prime because it cannot push air at a pressure high enough to do so. This is a common thing people run into and think the pump is bad.
