Hey guys, new here. Been around GTP's for about a year 1/2. I'm interested in getting an injection kit, but have a few questions. Can I use an injection kit without the use of a scanner? Is it hard to tune especially when mixed with ethanol vs. pure water? Can I have it tuned once and then be done with it or does it require constant tuning? Mods: FWI DHP 1.0 1:9;1 modified rockers TB spacer PEM's autolite 104's 3" downpipe 3.25 pulley 180* t-stat Best 1/4 mile time: 13.9 @ 99 (90* out and very humid) Really wanna run low 13's. |

Yes, you can install it without a scan tool, Since you do not have a mini-afc or power tuner you wouldn't be able to do much as far as tunning goes. a 50/50 mix works the best as far as a mix goes. Water cools far better than alcohol. Most people including myself just use -20 washer fluid. The walmart brand is 40% methanol. I run a 2.8 pulley with no problem and 25 degrees of timing on that mix. |

Grand prixs tend only to gain HP with W/I since our outlet temps are so high. With your mods you can bet you see a bit of knock with no tunning and the raised timing of a DHP. Kill the KR and you'll get full timing. On average the GTP PCM adds a few degrees with W/I. Some stock pcms like on my wifes GTP would see up to 18 degrees at WOT. You should pick up a good 10 to 15hp right off the bat. Remember it's the octane that's going to bring your power up. On a GTP it's a noticible difference as soon as the alcohol hits. |
