Ok, so a couple questions about the wiring from the controller there are 5 wires (i have a gtp so i ignore the gray) Black goes to black on power drop connector, red to red, blue and green go through the firewall to the engine bay. Once in the engine bay green goes to map connector and the blue goes to the white from the pump. The install directions say just to ignore the brown because the pump gets grounded on the body near where you mount the pump? If we were grounding the pump right next to it, why put the brown wire in there if it won't be used? So my questions are, where was the intentional grounding point when Bilal was making up the kits. And second what is the yellow/black wire for on the power drop connector?

The harness is designed to mount the pump in multiple spots on variety of vehicles some vehicles don't have a close mounting point for a ground so it's extended. On the GTP you can use a strut tower bolt to ground the pump on the same side the pump is mounted on. or you can use the opposite side and keep it close to where the firewall groument is. It's just a matter of how you want to mount it. The new harnesses I use now are red and black wires because I finally found it in the right length. You can extend the pump harness length to just about anything by simply pluging in the extension. This is great for trunk mounting or on trucks. On the Power drop the Redish wire is remote on, the black is ground and the yellow and black is power wire. You would want this to be a toggled source or else it will always be on. To hook up the controller just hook up the black and red wires. |

I'll give you a rundown of how mine is, starting at the pump i have two red wires at the top. 1 red wire goes to the bottom of the pump. The other goes to the fuse, and from there goes to the white wire (your yellow wire). From the bottom of the pump the black wire (ground wire) is connected to my brown wire (your green). It is kinda confusing. The green wire that goes to your map is coming from your controller. So your yellow wire will be connecting to the blue wire from the controller. Then your use of the green wire (one that's next to the yellow wire in the tubing) is dependant on where you ground it. You can ground it at the pump, or you can ground it somewhere else (which is why he left the wire there in case you can't ground it where you mount the pump. HTH

You can ground the pump anywere on the body. The wire harness is there for you to mount the pump anywhere. I leave it intake when I install on a GTP so everything is on one side of the car. I ground to the strut tower bolt or to the altenator bolt.

Also, 1 thing to be aware of. When Choosing your ground make sure that the area is free from paint, oil, dirt etc. You want a solid ground. Using some sand paper and scouring the area will work best. -Chris |
