Default Front mount intercooler or no?

Is there really a point to getting a front mount intercooler if i'm just going to do water/meth injection? I mean the intercooler just cools the air and the water/meth injection cools it 10 times more then any intercooler ever could.. so is it even worth it? and sometimes a bigger intercooler drops psi

Does the car already have a SMIC?

on the skylines in the uk we find that the basic GTS-t model(255bhp) with a front mount ic,exhaust, induction kit and a re-mapped ecu will get about 312bhp.

But a customer of mine with a devils kit, exhaust, induction kit with a re-mapped ecu while still using the standard tiny side mount ic made 315bhp.

Yes i have a SMIC.. I have a 99.5 audi A4 1.8T quat. It has a K04 turbo upgrade, borla exhaust, and a chip.. I'm not totally sure who the chip is by but I know the pre-owner had alot of work done at AWE so i'm pretty sure its a GIAC (i think thats what its called) my only other upgrade plan would be a high flow cat.

I would use the AI for WTO knock and temp suppression, and allow the stock SMIC for everything else. Might even look into opening up some vents around the SMIC and then maybe spraying some alcohol on it.

High flow cat and a 3" downpipe would be a good upgrade if it hasnt already got one.

Dude the 3" on the 1.8t's is a must! I'm running a VR6 with a t3/t4 on stock compression and 10 psi. I get 0 knock and 0 timing retard....I'm running a 5gph nozzle too.

what kind of a/f's are you getting at WOT? What is your base fuel octane 93? what kind of mix are you running? So you do or dont have an intercooler? the temps from a T3/T4 is going to be hella lower then from a K series as well as less backpressure which means lower egts. sounds like you have a nice setup

I was thinkin about a test pipe but I just hate the way they sound with a borla.. Too much like a ricer! Yes I use 93 oct, and I have a side mount intercooler.. Its nothing great and if anyone has an audi they know the side mount hardly gets any airflow at all.. Now I could do a custom FMIC for no more then $150 but for $50 more I can get alc injection.. So I'm just trying to figure it out.
