The pump should not be that loud, I know i can't hear mine in any of the vehicles i have it in which some are right behind the seat. If you mounted to a surface that vibrates then it's going to make it loud.
As far as the switch goes those things are pretty much nuts on every time, I only think we have had one go bad in 2 years. You need to check the source line your using for your
pressure switch. Make sure it does not have a clog or restriction in it that is causing the pressure to be increase therefor making the switch think the pressure is higher than it really is. Remove the hose all the way to were it connects to the intake and see if you can blow through it. Also check to see if there is not a obstruction in the base of the
pressure switch like a piece of carbon that got blown free and lodged itself in there. Some canned air or air hose should do the trick for that.
