Default Need help with what kit to get.

Ok. Here is the deal. I have a 96 LT1 Trans Am with a Tc76MPS on it.

Not running yet, just been finishing up gathering the last of the parts I will need for the project.

For now, it will be run off the 1 bar map and fuel for the boost will be added through the PE tables on the PCM... But as soon as I can im going to a SBC and using megasquirt (and that means 3+ bar map sensors). Exactly what kit should I buy so I dont have to buy parts twice?

Im figuring something like 6-7 lbs intercooled and then 10 intercooled with meth (safe side?). Nozzle size suggestions?

-------------------------------------------

As my other project is a 1988 truck with a 1997 Vortec motor and it will be set up with a blowthrough setup (with a carb and that good stuff). What kit should I buy for this truck?

I wil be running 6 psi non-intercooled on the truck and then I was hoping to up it to 10 or a bit more with the meth. What size of nozzle should i start with on the meth?

Thanks a lot! I have a lot going on and any help I can get I wil take!

For the LT1 the universal kit with a 3 bar controller with a M14 nozzle, you can use the M14 for both IC and non-IC applications because us can use the controller to simply reduce pump pressure.

For the truck universal kit with a added 2 bar map sensor and 2 bar controller (or you can run the kit off the TPS sesnsor and use the voltage faced controller) A M12 nozzle should be the correct size for you. Once again you can tweak it with the controller from inside the vehicle.

You can also use either of or base kits with these vehicles with a 6-10 psi pressure switch if you do not want to go progressive on both or either vehicle.

Well i decided to do something else on the truck... but back to the car.

How much does meth really help? I know its a by vehicle basis because of all the variables... but im up in the thin air at the tune of almost 5000 feet... so i probly could run 2psi more than all the sea level boys and be safe.... (everyone runs 6psi to be safe.. 8 pushing it... so +2 for me)

now the thing also is all we have is 91 octane... how much more boost/timing/power can be safely achieved with the use of meth? Right now im learnign this with the stock motor before i go play with a 500 rwhp motor (coming asap with the turbo kit ocmpletion)...

Thanks again...

I'll just say most LS1's pick up around 30hp -40hp with the alcohol, with just adding a little timing a 1 to 2 psi. The LT1 pick up simular gain. And at 500ft your going to be making alot less boost than us on sea level. I know when i use to visit montana i would lose around 5 psi, The rule thumb is 1psi per 1000 feet.
