This is a discussion on "nozzle before or after the BPV?" within the Turbocharged Engines forums. This forum, and the thread "nozzle before or after the BPV? "are both part of the Engine Specific category;
Well I have seen others with Mazdaspeed 3's tap before the BPV (running full recirc) on the cold pipe just after the TMIC.. However i can squeeze it in just after (about an inch) the bpv. This is where i prob will install it (m3 nozzle).. should I be worried about anything recirculating back into the turbo inlet? Even if it is downstream the bypass valve, i dare say with it being so close to it, there may still be some water/meth recirculating.
Also as far as I understand there is no worreis with methylated spirits (Denatured alcohol) insted of meth? in a 50/50 water mix?
If you can get it in after the BPV it's probably a better location, but if not the amount the goes back to the turbo will be small and should not have any negative effects anything. Remember many people have a D01 or DO2 nozzle located pre-turbo. The airflow going past your BPV should keep anything from going back the other way, remember your talking hundreds of CFM of air a minute in a small space.
Denatured alcohol just has less 02 then Methanol and slightly lower octane rating as well as a higher viscosity of water but both mixes work almost equally as well. Methanol can be hard to come by for some. Especially overseas.
Also, two other questions... does the pump have to be installed under the reservoir? Or will it still work if its a around a foot above it? And if the car is running 18.5 PSI boost, what would you recommend to trigger the stage one kit at? 13-14psi maybe? appreciate the input

Cheers again

The pump can be put in any position and in any location in a full sized car, They are designed to pull 8ft strait up.
As far as set points every car is different, But I would start at around 10psi and go from there.
