I am currently running pre-TB water/meth injection on an EvoI using a 16G turbo. The nozzle is about the equivalent of a DO7.
I would like to install a pre-turbo nozzle in addition to the current jet to get a little extra out of my setup.
The first decision I need to make is what to run as fluid. I currently run 100% meth. I am wondering if running 100% meth is safe or if it will corrode the compressor blades. The other thing is will it be effective? My pre turbo IAT range between 120F and 140F. I am wondering if the meth will flash before running through the compressor. If it does, I figure I will not really see the benefit of pre-turbo injection if it doesn't evaporate in the compressor.
The second consideration is what size jet to use. From what I understand it is better to use a small jet as the atomisation will be better and likelihood of compressor damage is reduced. If the jet is too small though the effect of the preturbo injection will probably be minimal. What size do you suggest?
To minimise the potential of compressor damage I am thinking to not start injection until boost is above 15psi and also using a solenod on the line just before the jet to prevent or minmize any dribbling into the compressor. Also, I will point the jet towards the compressor using a 90 degree fitting.
Are there any other considerations or things to watch out for?
EDIT: To mount the nozzle in my intake pipe I am thinking to use an outside mount nozzle along with this to mount the nozzle at 90 degrees in the pipe:
