It is a box that reads flow, if flow drops it sends 12 volt to a switch on my wastegate to dump boost. Yes it is a fourstroke R1 street bike motor. My wide band is alittle on lean side right now like 12.5 or so. running 100% methanol??????

Please tell me more!!!!

THANK YOU Skydog

yes id say 12.5 without meth on a boosted engine is lean.. id like to see it atleast in the 11's a/f ratio without the METH

you will make more HP and supress detonation better by running 100% meth in your injection system

as a safety measure, I would use the mix you have right now just to see if everything is setup right. The 50/50 isn't flammable, and would be easier and cheaper to waste if/when there is a setup problem. After everything is running good, turn up the wick, and put in the pure methanol.

Just want to clear up something. The Mazda and GMC diesel's are 2 stroke and have been running turbo's for years. Also we use to run a Kaw 900cc triple that was turbo'd and it was a 2 stroke. You just have to pay attention to port timing when turboing a 2 stroke.

My brother lives in Alaska and races a sled and they use Washer fluid as it wont freeze.
Correct me if I'm wrong but the more water you can use the better cooling effect you get. I'm new at this water/alcohol injection thing but not new to hi-oerformance.

The anti detonant effect of a cooler combustion chamber that water may provide is offset by the greatly reduced energy water would provide compared to methanol. The expanding water molecules do provide energy as they go from liquid to gas.
As it so happens methanol has a pretty good latent heat of evaporization and does so at a much lower temperature so it cools the intake charge while raising the octane of the fuel in the combustion chamber. It also produces more power than gasoline in direct contrast to the reduced power that water provides.

So, in short, methanol is what you want to run unless you have an air cooled VW engine under boost or something where overheating can quickly become out of control.

I have read a couple different places that methanol alone will not give you the same safety margin against detonation as a combo of water and methanol.

Both at RB Racing and AIS.

Plus, it's not flammable like was mentioned, which I think is a good thing. You never know, accident ,etc, what could puncture a line and then there you go.
