Here's a local install on a VW 1.8T with a Audi turbo I completed this week running 25psi of boost he's a member of VWvortex.com The car goes to the dyno in 2 days to show the results. All in all not a very hard install on a VW. A few custom items we had in stock had to be used to make everything work without a hitch. VW definitely are set up different than many other cars.

First thing is the electronics, most sensors have 2 wires vs. the normal 3 we are all use to with a 5v in, 5v out, and a ground so we added a GM 3 BAR Map sensor pawed by our controller and it works flawlessly with the VW.

Pump mounting is a snap we jacked up the front end of the vehicle and mounted the pump in the fender well using a different method than most use by removing the pumps factory bracket and using the bracket as a template and drilling two holes. This were you re-use the pumps 2 bolts with rubber bonded stainless washers to mount the pump. Mounting takes about 10 minutes. You need a long extension due to the transmission cooling lines being slightly in the way.

Tapping the tank. Removal is not needed at all. It is set up perfect from the factory. There is a large rubber gourmet at the bottom that sits through a factory hole in the frame. Simply drill and screw in the tank tap and your ready to rock. All hoses are run from under the vehicles so the install is almost completely unseen.


Tapping the boost line for the 3 BAR map sensor. Not hard at all. Use 1/8 ID vac line with a T connector. We have a custom brass one we use. It's tiny and makes for a super clean install. Simply slip the 1/8ID vac line over the factory lines. (Use a little bit of WD-40 to lube them up) Then use the custom T or a universal T fitting to connect the lines. Run a 1/8 vac line to the GM 3 bar with a 1/8" to 1/4" hose adaptor. Use 2 inches of 1/4" ID hose to connect to the GM 3 bar map sensors barb fitting and your done.

We used the battery ground for the pump and Map sensor ground. Simply remove the bolt on the ground and slip over the electrical connector and re-install the bolt.

To save yourself a mess use the pump to suck your stock washer tank dry before tapping or your going to be getting wet.

Connecting the controller. Also an easy task with the VW, Simply remove the torx bit screws holding the panel below the steering wheel and drop the panel.

Next find a ground wire and tap it using the supplied electrical connectors.
There is a relay box under that dash with screw down terminals and heavy 8 gauge wires. This is what we used to power the unit. Looking at it from under the Dash the 12-volt remote source is the connector on the far left (The last one on the left) all the rest are 12-volt constants.

Pushing the pump output wire and Map sensor 5 volt input wire through the firewall is slightly difficult but not to hard. You will need a small strait stick to push it through. You will see in the pics that you will need to remove the relay box in the engine compartment to access the wires once you have pushed them through the firewall.

Nozzle mounting also a snap. You will need to use a washer on the inside and of the soft pipe. We used one on both sides, washers are provided with the kit.

All in all not a very hard install. The car pulled much harder than before on a 50/50 mix and after 10 minutes of testing the system and may WOT runs the intake stayed ICE COLD. Just like we promise.

Dyno testing will be on Friday.

Yesss.. TurboDieselInjection..
Although you may not get any power gains since those Diesels put out low HP, you may gain some added MPG!
+1 for VWVortex though, for the haters..

If you are chipped then yes.. Otherwise, no.. To be safe go for the 3bar..
